about us

The idea of starting Roots and Beads germinated after a beautiful encounter I made on Tiktok, her name Evy lane. I am west-african, born and raised,I have been crafting beads for a while now. I don’t claim any country and most people on the continent will understand why. It’s a family heritage passed down to me by my mother. I have to admit that I gave a little twist to this heritage but I kept the core of it. Waist beads are meant to celebrate womanhood, modern society uses beauty standards  to put women in boxes and tear them down whenever they do not fit in .So I decided  to use my culture to build bridges for women around the world, and spread my perspective on how to own and embrace every step of their life's journey. The ultimate goal for me here is to set  a safe place up for self love and a judgement free zone.

This is why I created Roots and Beads. I want  women from around the world of every race, shape and size to feel loved, free and beautiful; Every piece is crafted with love and special care. I'm so excited for this journey. If you see me using the term us, I'm referring to my mom and me.
